Me & My Sister, Molly the Shih Tzu

I have two sisters (well, actually 3 if you include that darn cat!). I talk about Cheyenne the most because she’s my best friend. But my Gramma’s dog Molly also lives with us. My dad says she’s “Chinese royalty” because she’s a shih tzu. I don’t know what that means, but I do know she’s pretty bossy and thinks she’s awful special. Gramma thinks so too.

Me, I ignore her most of the time, even when she wants to play with me. I just prefer bigger dogs like Cheyenne, you know what I mean?

But one time I can’t ignore her is when we go for walks. You see, I’m hooked up to her with some Y-connector on the leash. She tries to boss me around by pulling on the leash, but it doesn’t do much good. I have a good 15 pounds on her, so I pretty much go where I want… and she has no choice but to come along with me. hehe!

Halloween Is Coming… Even for BTs!

It’s almost that time of year again… Halloween… with all it’s spookiness, sweet treats… and costumes of course. And Boston terriers can wear costumes and indulge their inner fantasies too, right? Or at least their owner’s fantasies. ;)

When Gizmo was a puppy, he even had his own little pumpkin costumer. It was adorable, but alas, it no longer fits his pudgy little sausage body. So I found a few pics on the Web of other BTs in costume and I’ll be posting them here for your enjoyment…

Big Mouth Boston Terrier Picture

Kathi back again, with this super cute and freaky “big mouth” Boston terrier picture. Gizmo has a pretty wide mouth too, but this photographer really captured his pup’s huge looking mouth, don’t you think?

Boston Terrier Photo – Playing Chess

Hi… Kathi here… I’m Gizmo’s Mommy! He’s getting a little tired of getting his picture taken every day and then having to write about it, so he’s taking a short break and will be back in a few days.

I’ve found some really cute Boston terrier photos on the Web, plus occasionally we get to meet other BTs on our walks. Those are the pics I’ll be publishing here, while Gizzy gets his blogging storytelling mojo back.

I thought this pic was adorable when I saw it. I happen to think Boston terriers are pretty smart pups… but playing chess? Not so sure about that one… :)

Daddy Loves Me So Much!

My Daddy loves dogs so much… and he loves me too! I like to think I’m his favorite, but Cheyenne says the same thing, so I don’t know for sure.

Today’s Boston terrier photo is of Daddy kissing my head while we’re on a walk on the Boise Greenbelt… that’s Eagle Island we’re standing on. It has this huge stone beach and we get to run around loose (off the leashes) when we’re there.

I think I was feeling a little needy here and I jumped up on Dad to make sure he still loved me. I think you can tell the answer, can’t you? ;)

Boston Terrier Picture – Extreme Closeup!

Jeez… I can’t believe we’ve been doing this daily photo thing of Mom snapping a Boston terrier picture every day for a whole month now! Are you getting tired of looking at pictures of me yet? I know I’m getting a little tired of having to write a blog post every single day! I might even ask my mom to do some of these posts in the future.

Anyway, here’s today’s picture. It’s an extreme closeup Boston terrier picture of yours truly. Hope you like it!

Holding Down the Fort… Sort of

My Mom & Dad’s office has this big desk made out of a door. They sit on either side of it working on their computers. I love to sit on my Dad’s lap while he types and surfs the Web. (I like to sit on Mom’s lap too, but she says I’m too heavy and she can’t type while I’m on her lap… :( )

Anyway… Dad’s kinda ADD and he gets up and down a lot from his desk chair. If I’m on his lap sleeping when he wants to wander around, he’ll just set me back down on the chair. Usually, I just stay asleep.

Here’s a picture Mom took when I was doing just that!

The “It” Bone

Another thing I love is chewing bones, especially Nylabones. Mom says it’s good for my teeth, but I just love how it feels. Sometimes, I chew so hard and long, my mouth starts bleeding and my bone turns all pink. That’s kinda gross.

I loved it when my sister, Cheyenne, joined our family because she became my favorite playmate. Unfortunately, she ripped up all of my toys, so now we can’t have toys any more. She just destroys them. She also likes chewing bones. And so does my newest sister, Molly.

Mom & Dad thought they had a great idea when they bought us each our own Nylabones. They even bought different sizes for each of us… small for Molly, medium for me and big for Cheyenne.

What they didn’t understand at the time was the concept of the “it” bone. The “it” bone is the favorite bone of the moment… and it is the favorite for all 3 of us. And we each want it at that same time. Which of our many bones IS the “it” bone changes from day to day. But whatever bone is “it”, that’s the one we all fight over. Doesn’t matter how many others are sitting around. We just ignore them.

When one of us has the “it” bone, the other 2 usually sit there staring at the one chewing, looking very sad. We might even start whining a bit, in hopes Mom or Dad will take it from the chewer and give it to us. Doesn’t usually work, though.

My sister, Cheyenne is such a show off. When she has the “it”bone, she likes to growl and bark all obnoxious, like she’s saying, “Look at me! I have the bone and you don’t!” That really makes me mad.

But every once in a while, we want to chew so bad, we’ll actually each take a different bone. Mom captured that  happening today…

Waiting for Ice Cream – Daily Photo

I LOVE ice cream! It is SO yummy… don’t you agree? And luckily, my daddy loves it too… and he’s willing to share. My human sister, Sarah, says “people food” isn’t good for me, but hey… I’ve been eating ice cream all my life and it doesn’t seem to have hurt me yet. So I say, bring it on, Dad! :)

The year we lived in Missoula Montana, Mom & Dad used to walk to an ice cream stand called The Big Dipper. I loved that place, because they had doggie ice cream cones. Isn’t that cool? They were just little, but it was great.

At home, my dad has ice cream at least 3 nights a week at bedtime. Whenever he scoops it out, he’ll give my sisters and me like a half spoonful. I always look at him hopefully with my big brown eyes, trying to encourage him to give me my own bowl, but it hasn’t worked yet. I keep dreaming of eating a whole bowl of ice cream though!

Here I am, working my dad over with my big… hopeful… brown eyes…
